Zero Punctuation

Well, it seems I may have found my new favorite game reviewer. Well, maybe not favorite, but tied for first at least, the other being Ed from Acorn Films.

His reviews are called Zero Punctuation, and can be found here:

He's British but living in Australia (pretty kick-ass, if you ask me), and seems to have reviewed damn-near every major and many minor games in existence. At least the recent ones.

Very funny, and part of the reason my inner monologue now has a British accent.

Seriously. The thoughts in my head now sound like I'm a bit of a wanker.

Well Now

It's certainly been quite awhile since I've posted here. I had all but forgotten this blog amidst the many things in my home life. Bleh.

Life had really gone from what seemed like the best in a long time, to really bad, to even better than it's been in years, and then back to really fucking bad.

Yeah.

But now, back to gaming. Recently bought the original Paper Mario again for the Virtual Console. Busting through that right now, aww yeah.

Most everyone distinctly remembers Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, and it's a bit surprising to find how much of my own memories of the original were replaced with memories of the Gamecube edition. Also, sadly, I never got to play Super Paper Mario, though it looks incredibly fun.

On a somewhat-related note, I simply cannot wait for the new DS being released in the US in March, the 3DS.

Naming puns aside, I'm very interested in seeing autostereoscopic gameplay without the use of 3D goggles. That is, this new DS will sport the ability to go 3D without goggles, but only for one viewer. I'm particularly excited for Paper Mario, for the 3DS, because just imagine a little 2D Mario rolling around a full 3D world. Freaking awesome, to say the least.

Keeping with the Mario theme I've got going, I'm nearly done getting all of the Star Coins for New Super Mario Bros Wii. A very fun addition...except for the multiplayer. The multiplayer is just one giant troll-fest, what with the ability to pick up teammates and throw them off ledges. Terribly fun, but terribly troll-worthy.

I admit, I don't expect anyone to read this, since it's the first post I've made in months, but still, figure I'll start up again and see if I can get back into the swing of it.

Take care, all!

Demon's Souls. Hot damn.

Been a few days since I've updated. Having just started this blog, I'm sure you all can understand xD

Now, I know I've said that I'm a 360 gamer, but I must bring up what is, quite possibly, my favorite RPG of all time.

I'm speaking of course, about Demon's Souls, a (sadly) PS3 exclusive.

That game...is pretty damn difficult. Not in a bad way, either. It makes you get better by forcing you to memorize tactics, pay attention to your stamina, yada yada. Essentially, it's like playing a Legend of Zelda game (with the Z-targeting, rolling, attacking during that half-second of weakness, then rolling away again), but for more hardcore players.

Here's a fantastic review of it:

If anyone has played it, I'm sure you can agree with me that it's awesome as fuck. If you haven't, it's ALMOST worth getting a PS3 for this game alone. I mean, there's hardly anything else going for the PS3, heh.

Halo Reach

Now, as many of you all know, Halo: Reach is scheduled to release on September 14th. Pretty awesome, eh? I'm purchasing the Legendary Edition, for $150, which includes, among other things, a decent-sized hand-painted statue of Nobel Six, and a nice slew of goodies for online play.

I think that it will be THE game of 2010, personally. Space fighting, a nice selection of missions, many many different customization options, Forge World, Firefight 2.0...This game is shaping up to be quite an achievement for Bungie.

Anyone have any thoughts, etc?

Herp

Derp.

I'm Chad, and, as you can tell by my blog name, am a Libertarian atheist that also games. Fuck yeah.

I know nothing about blogging, so bear with me. Uh...I guess this first one will be about...gaming? I own a 360 and many 360 games. I also own a Wii and play Brawl a lot with friends. That's about it. Woot.
